Attention Queen’s University Bound Students. There are many Major Admission Award scholarships for Queen’s. Students who demonstrate superior academic ability, creative and original thinking, involvement in school or community activities, and proven leadership can apply for a Queen’s major admission award. Financial need is also a consideration for some of the major admission awards. You must apply to the Ontario University Application Centre by November 20th to be considered for these awards. Attention potential graduates who are serious about attending Queen’s University. If you have a high school average of 90 plus percent, you are a creative and original thinker and you demonstrate leadership, you are encouraged to pick up a blue Queen’s Chancellor’s Scholarship application in Student Services.

Students looking for community hours opportunities should view the bulletin board outside of Student Services. There is a new posting on the bulletin board for a senior in the Henderson Survey looking for students to rake leaves and shovel snow.

Our virtual school visit is a great opportunity for students to learn about our admission requirements, entrance scholarships, and to connect with admissions staff. Mohawk College invited you to join them for College Mondays. Ontario Colleges are hosting virtual information sessions every Monday in October and November. If students are considering college, this is an opportunity to gather information about colleges and their programs at ontariocolleges.ca. Virtual Open House, watch for more details of our Open House Plus taking place November 1 -12. Students can register to receive regular updates and stay connected by visiting our website at mohawkcollege.ca.

Attention grads of June 2022, your grad application and grad fee are posted to School Cash Online. The fee must be paid, and the application form completed and submitted by November 12th. Once this is completed, you will receive an email with the online booking information from Edge Imaging. Grads are responsible for booking their own grad photo. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Ronson in Student Services.

SHSM Sports Program. If you are a grade 11 student who is interested in learning more about this opportunity, please see Mr. DeProsperis in the gym ASAP. Applications are due by October 25th so you must act quickly to avoid missing out.

Anyone who is signed up or is interested in curling for the boys or girls curling team should come to a meeting Monday, October 25th at 3:00 in room 202. See Mr. Todd for details.

Are you a student in Grade 11 or 12 who has been pursuing courses in the Arts, particularly in the Visual Arts? Then this message is for you. The Arts Department is offering a Specialist High Skills Major in Visual Arts. If you enroll in the program, you will acquire specialized art-based skills and experiences preparing you for a post-secondary destination. The deadline for enrollment for SHSM is fast approaching, applications must be submitted on October 25th at the latest. If you are interested, you must see one of the art teachers for a SHSM Application this week. Do not delay or you will miss out on this special opportunity.

Get the help you need with:  Essay organization and development, pesky punctuation misunderstandings, formatting and editing, reading strategies for everything from novel studies to Shakespeare. Improv Club will be meeting tonight from 3:15 – 4:30 pm in room 103. Orders for Improv Club Spirit wear must be in by next Friday, October 29th. The order form and payment should be completed thru School Cash On-Line.
