HAIRSTYLING AND AESTHETICS

In Grade 11 the focus is on aesthetics and hairstyling.  You will develop skills in manicures, waxing, air brushing, fashion makeup, hairstyling and develop knowledge in bacteriology and decontamination procedures.  You will be able to put these talents to work in the salon, in school productions and volunteer activities.

In Grade 12 you will further develop your  talents in hair cutting, colouring, perming, special effects makeup and salon business skills.  Both grades participate in exciting career exploration trips to an International Makeup School and Professional Hair Shows.  Students are also able to compete for representation in the Skills Ontario Competition.

The Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program is a great avenue for those who are considering a career in hairstyling.  Learning could not be more fun and rewarding.  The career possibilities are endless!
