During the month of November, The City of Brantford will be hosting a contest for all ages throughout the Downtown Core. Downtown Detours is the best way to kick start your holiday shopping. The game works as follows; Pick up a passport from either Student Services, Lonnie’s or Tim Horton’s on Dalhousie. Once you have your game passport, make your way through all of the local downtown businesses listed on your passport and have your passport stamped as you go in. Also taking advantage of all the special promotions only offered to Downtown Detour participants such as ½ priced appetizers at Devlins and many more. Once your passport is completed, drop it off at Parks and Recreation and you will be entered into a draw to win $2,000, $700 or $200 in gift cards. Perfect to have right before Christmas. Hurry though, contest ends December 1st at 4:00 p.m. See you out there!
Attention Eco-Team members, there will be a meeting on Thursday this week during junior lunch in room 110. We will be working on preparing for our first school wide campaign so it is important that all available members attend. Senior members can see Mr. Beaudin in room 110 throughout the week to collect any necessary materials that you may need. Also, remember to check the SJC Eco-Team group through your board email on a regular basis to sign up for any Eco-team initiatives that you may want to get involved.
Attention all SIC Writers, submissions for the Laurier Stedman writing contest are due on Friday. If you’re hesitating, don’t hesitate to much longer. Create or fine-tune your original short story and submit it on Friday, November 24th. On that day all story submitters will be asked to meet in the Library during both junior and senior lunches so that the stories can be collected and submitted on-line. So be sure to have both a paper copy and a MS Word copy of your story ready to go for Friday. If you have any questions be sure to speak with Mr. Heida, Mr. Agnolin, Mrs. Luciani or Mrs. O’Sullivan.
All students are invited to pray in the Chapel at the start of both lunches. This month, we will be praying for our deceased family & friends before we say The Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Please come and spend a few minutes in the Chapel at the start of each lunch remembering your loved ones.
