Attention grade 12 students looking to attend post-secondary school next year.  Please check the bulletin board in the hallway near Student Services for information regarding college and university liaison visits, college and university open houses, scholarship and funding information.  Information will be posted to the boards as they are received so check often.  Additional information regarding scholarships, awards, and bursaries will be available from time to time in the Student Services Office, check the hanging files on the wall near the seating area.  Listen to announcements for information regarding scholarships, awards and bursaries.  Information will also be provided in the Leaving the Nest package to be provided to students expected to graduate this year as well as online at sjconline.ca.

Attention students looking to obtain some community involvement hours.  We have some new opportunities posted on the board outside of student services.    Brantwood Farms is looking for volunteers to assist at their charity event called Ghost Encounters Haunted Barn and Hayride.  Positions include actors, security, ticket taking, makeup and costumes.  Another opportunity is with our Daily Bread Dinners at Grace Anglican Church.  Positions include dishwashing, assisting with serving and cleanup.  Also, the Grand River Council on Aging, they are seeking student volunteers to help with their fundraiser called Taco Fest which they will hold at Harmony Square on September 29th.  Students can help with a variety of activities including helping vendors and contestants to set up their booths, helping contestants serve tacos to visitors, collect ballots and general errands. Volunteers are also needed at Harmony Square for their Scare in the Square on Friday, October 4th and Saturday, October 5th.   Contact information for these opportunities is posted on the board outside of Student Services.

Attention any students interested in pursuing a career in real estate.  Former SJC Principal, Dina Dalia will be here today on senior lunch in the library to discuss and invite you to an exciting event run by a local real estate company.  The event is aimed at young students who are interested in becoming a real estate agent.  Today, senior lunch.

Are you interested in the Germany, Switzerland, and Italy art trip for March Break 2020, then this message is for you?  However, if you are already registered for the trip, you can disregard this message.  There will be a parent information night on Thursday, September 19th at 6:30 p.m. in Room 232 (Mrs. DiStefano’s room).

This is a reminder that the girls rugby 7s practice has been moved from Wednesday to today after school.  See you all at 3:30.

Grade 12 students are reminded of the Leaving the Nest Assembly in the cafeteria tomorrow-Wednesday, September 18th at 9 a.m.  Grade 12 students are to attend their homeroom first thing in the morning and you will be called down to the cafeteria when the assembly begins.
