The Laurier-Stedman Writing contest is back.  All interested students are invited to an information meeting to be held today during both lunches in Portable 6.  We’ll discuss the timelines of this writing contest as well as entry requirements.  If you have any questions, speak to Mr. Heida.  See you there.

Attention students, are you looking for a fun way to work towards your 40 volunteer hours?  Yes, then why not volunteer at our Elimination Draw on Saturday, November 2nd.  Students are needed to help with setting up and clearing tables in the gym.  If you are interested, there is a sign-up sheet on the door of room 144.  See Ms. Cupoli if you have any questions.

Elections Canada is looking for poll workers in the upcoming election.  To apply go online to elections.ca/jobs or call toll free 1-866-238-4181.  These details are on a poster outside of Student Services.  Check it out.

This Friday, October 18th, the Gay Straight Alliance will be hosting a social during junior and senior lunch.  Come drop by the Divine Mercy room to hang out with other students and chat about the year ahead.  Can’t wait to see you there.

St. Pius Church is looking for students to help with our Hallowe’en for Hoodies project.  Join us as we support the Saint Vincent de Paul Society with a collection of cold weather items.  On Thursday, October 31st we’ll be going door to door collecting hoodies, coats, mitts, scarves, gloves, and other cold weather gear to help our less fortunate neighbors through the winter.  This is a great way to get out on Hallowe’en evening to support the community and spend more time with friends.  To find out more information, contact Andrew Beach at St. Pius Church or speak to Chap Andy.

All cross-country students will be dismissed today at 10:15 a.m. for the BCSSAA run.  Runners are to meet immediately after period 1 at the Paris Road doors, dressed and ready to go.
