Bonjour. Le Club Francais will be meeting in room 210 on Friday, November 22nd. Students studying French both this semester and next semester are invited and encouraged to attend. The meetings will take place during both lunches in room 210. Please sign up on the door of room 210. It is important to sign up so that arrangements can be made based on the number of people attending. The guest speaker is our very own Rise student Jennifer Damoah who was born in Montreal. Come and eat our lunch in room 210 next Friday. You may speak to any of the French teachers if you require more information.
Attention grade 12 students looking to take a year off before attending post-secondary school. Mobilize Jobs has a $1,000.00 Gap Year Scholarship. Applications are due May 31, 2020. Students must show proof of post-secondary school Deferred Admission status into a program for the next school year. More information about this scholarship is available on Scholartree.ca.
Attention grade 12 students. The Terry Fox Humanitarian Award has a maximum value of $28,000.00 disbursed over 4 years. A Terry Fox Humanitarian Award poster is hanging on the Scholarships Awards and Bursaries bulletin board outside of Student Services. The deadline to apply is February 1, 2020. Attention creative writers, come to the library on Monday, November 18th with your stories. November 22’s SJC submission date for the Laurier-Stedman writing contest is fast approaching. Get feedback and share ideas during both lunches on Monday so that your short story can be at its best.
