Petrella begins seventh consecutive term as Chair of Catholic School Board
December 1, 2020 (Brant, Haldimand, Norfolk) At the 2020 Annual meeting, the Trustees of the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board (BHNCDSB) acclaimed Rick Petrella, as Chair of the Board and Carol Luciani as Vice-Chair.
With over ten years experience on the BHNCDSB Board of Trustees, Rick Petrella enters his seventh consecutive year as Chair. Chair Petrella has held numerous roles on committees including Audit, Budget and Strategic Planning. Through his seat on Executive Council, Chair Petrella continues to help guide the Board to remain fiscally accountable and transparent while ensuring focus on student achievement. “I am honoured to, again, be acclaimed Chair of the Board,” said Rick Petrella. “This has been a unique year and we have had to navigate the unknown. The fact that our district remains strong, our students continue to excel, and our schools can remain open and safe in light of a pandemic speaks to the commitment of this Board and our staff. I am incredibly proud of everyone’s ability to demonstrate perseverance, strength, and resiliency and am happy to lead this district into 2021.”
Vice Chair Carol Luciani holds the role for a second consecutive term and is known for ensuring that inclusivity and equity in the classroom, remains a priority for the district. She continues to demonstrate her commitment to Catholic education and dedication to the Board which she joined in 1988.
Normally, the Annual Meeting is attended by staff and school administrators from across the district. To adhere to local public health guidelines, only Trustees and essential staff participated in the open forum meeting which followed an Advent Liturgy.
