All students are invited to pray in the Chapel at the start of both lunches. This month, we will be praying for our deceased family and friends before we say The Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Please come and spend a few minutes in the Chapel at the start of each lunch remembering your loved ones.
During the month of November, The City of Brantford will be hosting a contest for all ages throughout the Downtown Core. Downtown Detours is the best way to kick start your holiday shopping. The game works as follows; Pick up a passport from either Student Services, Lonnie’s or Tim Horton’s on Dalhousie. Once you have your game passport, make your way through all of the local downtown businesses listed on your passport and have your passport stamped as you go in. Also taking advantage of all the special promotions only offered to Downtown Detour participants such as ½ priced appetizers at Devlins and many more. Once your passport is completed, drop it off at Parks and Recreation and you will be entered into a draw to win $2,000, $700 or $200 in gift cards. Perfect to have right before Christmas. Hurry though, contest ends December 1st at 4:00 p.m. See you out there!
Attention all SIC Writers, submissions for the Laurier Stedman writing contest are due on Friday. If you’re hesitating, don’t hesitate to much longer. Create or fine-tune your original short story and submit it on Friday, November 24th. On that day all story submitters will be asked to meet in the Library during both junior and senior lunches so that the stories can be collected and submitted on-line. So be sure to have both a paper copy and a MS Word copy of your story ready to go for Friday. If you have any questions be sure to speak with Mr. Heida, Mr. Agnolin, Mrs. Luciani or Mrs. O’Sullivan.
Attention all students interested in coming to a meeting of Le Club Francais: Our next meeting will take place on Friday December 1st during both lunches. The guest speaker is a former student who will discuss his French-language experiences. Please sign up on the door of room 210 so that arrangements can be made based on the number of people attending.

The upper Caf will not be available on Friday during the day as it will be used for a classroom activity. Please make other arrangements of you normally use this area.

Attention Eco-Team members, there will be a meeting on Thursday this week during junior lunch in room 110. We will be working on preparing for our first school wide campaign so it is important that all available members attend. Senior members can see Mr. Beaudin in room 110 throughout the week to collect any necessary materials that you may need. Also, remember to check the SJC Eco-Team group through your board email on a regular basis to sign up for any Eco-team initiatives that you may want to get involved.

Attention all Swimmers: If you have not already done so, please see Mrs. Bowen or Mr. Perras today to choose your events for next week's invitational meet. Our roster must be in on Friday, so if you do not register with us you will not be competing! Our next practice will be Monday, November 27th at the Gretzsky Centre. No Thursday practice this week. P.S. You must also pay your fees through CASH-ON-LINE before you can compete.

Any girls interested in trying out for the Senior Girls Volleyball Team, tryouts will take place next week on Monday, November 13th, Tuesday, November 14th and Wednesday, November 15th at 3:15. You must pick up a permission form outside the gymnasium or please sign up with Mr. Pomponio.

Please see Mr. Petrella if you cannot attend.

This message is for St. John’s College potential graduates for 2018. At this point all students have completed a graduation application and have met with their guidance counselor to review credits, literacy and community volunteer hour requirements for graduation. Please note there is a significant number of potential graduates that have not completed their 40 hours of community service which is a diploma requirement. If any students are interested in putting their name forward as a Valedictorian candidate the due date for submission is December 1, 2017. Payment for grad fees has been posted on St. John’s College school cash on line. Fees are $80.00 and are due by December 8, 2017. The fees cover ceremony costs and a $25.00 photo sitting fee. Once fees are paid a grad photo package, which includes a scheduled date and time for each student’s photo, will be mailed to the student’s home address. Graduation photos will begin January 9th and finish January 24th, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily in room 274. All graduation information is online at www.sjconline.ca.
