An important reminder to all Potential Grads.  Be sure to submit your 40 hours of Community Service to Student Services by the January 30th deadline.  If you have any questions, concerns or need another form to complete then please see you Guidance Counsellor as soon as possible.

Attention grade 12 students interested in applying for a Western National Scholarship.  Western National Scholarships are designed to recognize all-round excellence.  They are awarded based on outstanding academic performance, demonstration of the ability to have creative and innovative thought, and a passion for the pursuit of learning.  St. John’s College can nominate four students to apply for the Western National Scholarships.  Details can be obtained in Student Services.  Applications to be a nominee are due in Student Services by Friday, January 10, 2020.

If you are the recipient of an academic award but were unable to attend the ceremony, please come to the Principals Office today to pick up your award.

Attention Grade 12 students.  There are many Western National Scholarships available.  Our staff has been asked to nominate up to four graduating students who are applying to attend Western University for the fall of 2019.  Applications to be nominated are due in Student Services by Monday, January 14th, 2019.  For more information on the Western National Scholarships, please come to Student Services.

If anyone still needs to purchase a turkey luncheon ticket, please see Mrs. Padmore in the Main Office.

Attention all students who are purchasing a SJC Italia hoodie.  During the Christmas holidays, please make your payment via School Cash on Line.  Then on January 7th bring your receipt to Madame in Room 210.  All hoodies must be paid for by January 7th.  The order for the hoodies will be submitted if you have made your payment.

Attention Grade 12 students.  Schulich Leadership Scholarships award 50 scholarships annually.  Twenty-five awards of $100,000.00 for engineering and twenty-five awards of $80,000.00 for science, technology, or mathematics.  Our staff has been asked to nominate one graduating student who is planning on attending one of their partnered universities in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics related program.  Applications to be nominated are due in Student Services by Monday, January 21st, 2019.  For more information on the Scholarships, please come to Student Services.

Our wrestling team made a good showing at the Kitchener, St. Mary’s invitations.  Sabreena B. finished third in her class and strong performances from Alexandre V., Catherine R., Ethan W., and Johnathon D.  Next meet is in Guelph on January 11th.  Good luck.

Attention all students traveling to France and Italy with the Modern Languages Department in March.  Please drop by to see Madame in room 210 for some information regarding the trip and a short meeting in January.  Information will also be emailed to your school email in January, so please check your email.

Attention Grade 12 students applying to attend Niagara College.  Niagara College has up to 12 bursary awards of $2,500.00 for students in financial need.  They are looking for technology focused superstars.  Interested students may be those looking at a future in carpentry, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, welding etc.  Information about Niagara College’s Paul and Gerri Charette Endowed Bursary are available at niagaracollege.ca/technologyaward as well as on the bulletin board outside of Student Services.

Do you hate paying a lot of money for a Christmas card?  Would you like a unique and handmade card to accompany your Christmas gifts this holiday season?  If you answered yes, then the Job Skills Class can help.  The students in the Job Skills class have created a variety of Christmas cards that you can purchase during school hours in Room 141.  Cards are sold for $2.00 a piece or 3 for $5.00.  Let us help with your holiday season shopping.

Attention students traveling to Germany, Switzerland, and Italy over the March Break 2020, did you submit all required forms and the permission form for the Mt. Pilatus excursion.  If you did not, this message if for you.  You must submit all forms ASAP, by the end of the week to Mrs. DiStefano or Mrs. Duffy.  The trip is fast approaching, we need all your important information and documents.
