Congratulations are in order for the September Students of the Month who have made outstanding contributions to our school community. We congratulate Ariana Goodale, Sebastian DeGrandis, Nathan Girardi and Isaias Schornagel. These winners are asked to see Mr. Picone to pick up their prizes. Well done to the four of you!
Attention students wishing to help at the Elimination Draw on November 2nd. We are still in need of a few more volunteers to help in the gym on the night of the draw. Please sign up on the door of Room 144 or see Ms. Cupoli for more information. Also, there will be an information meeting about volunteering at the draw on October 30. Please come to Room 144 at the beginning of Junior Lunch or see Ms. Cupoli if you cannot make it.
St. Pius Church is looking for students to help with our Hallowe’en for Hoodies project. Join us as we support the Saint Vincent de Paul Society with a collection of cold weather items. On Thursday, October 31st we’ll be going door to door collecting hoodies, coats, mitts, scarves, gloves, and other cold weather gear to help our less fortunate neighbors through the winter. This is a great way to get out on Hallowe’en evening to support the community and spend more time with friends. JC STEM is starting back up again this year. Senior STEM will be on October 23rd, the speaker will be starting promptly at 1:00 pm, so grab your lunch quickly and head to Room 161. Attention Grade 12 students looking to attend post-secondary school next year. Scholarship season is fully underway. There is currently 7.5 million dollars’ worth of scholarships that are open for application on scholartree.ca. Once a student completes their profile, they will be matched with all the awards that they qualify for. Currently the following are available: Scholarship for Music and Art students, Live Bright Scholarship, and Scholarship for Community Leadership. Visit scholartree.ca for details.

The Laurier-Stedman Writing contest is back. All interested students are invited to an information meeting to be held today during both lunches in Portable 6. We’ll discuss the timelines of this writing contest as well as entry requirements. If you have any questions, speak to Mr. Heida. See you there.

All cross-country students will be dismissed today at 10:15 a.m. for the BCSSAA run. Runners are to meet immediately after period 1 at the Paris Road doors, dressed and ready to go.

Attention all swimmers, thanks for all that showed up for our first practice yesterday. There will be no practice on Thanksgiving Monday and Wednesday because of parent interviews. Practice will resume on October 21st at 7 am WGSC Pool.
